Sometimes I Just Wanna Be French

I love that fashion gives you the chance to incorporate a little role playing into your everyday life. Most of my days I am living out my inner bohemian dreams in maxi skirts, ankle boots, worn in denim and artfully draped kimonos. But sometimes I want to bring things back down to the basics. Classic and timeless always work no matter where you're at. No matter what time of the day or night. Coco Chanel. Jane Birkin. Isabel Marant. Caroline de Maigret. All beautifully gorgeous French women with a strong sense of timeless style that I admire so much. Statement pieces like a black wool brimmed hat, a turtleneck top or dress, a streamlined coat and the most perfect pair of everyday ankle boots can be seen as foundation pieces for one's closet. They can be built upon and transitioned between seasons. The French way of dressing and thinking is so practical yet so sexy. The idea is oh so lust-worthy. I didn't mean to bust out my little Frenchy moves this fine snowy day, but it just happened. Maybe Paris is still lingering in my mind. Does this mean another trip is in store? Why I sure hope so! Traveling is always on my mind, it's not even funny.

And the new addition to the Modern Vice family . . . The Presley suede ankle boot! I got mine in a pretty black suede with fringe on the sides. Western glamorous. Just like Elvis.
